Stray Voltage Detector

The Stray Voltage Detector , model LV-S-5, is used to detect low stray voltage which may be present within electrically conductive sources. The Detector operates by holding it with a bare or gloved hand, or by using the optional Extension Handle, creating a "virtual ground" and directly contacting the metal tip of the Detector to the potentially energized source.

Three optional accessories are available for the LV-S-5. The Detector Tester supplies a low voltage AC signal for testing the LV-S-5 before and after use. The Extension Handle extends the reach of the LV-S-5, allowing the Tester to test equipment on the ground or hard to reach locations. The Ground Shield is used in areas where high voltage lines or other energized conductors are present.
